The Sports Medicine Council offers
coverage for sports events around the province.
Our members provide on
site assessment and treatment of injuries to the athletes.
Treatment may include first aid care, provision of ice,
massage therapy, assisted stretching and supportive taping
techniques. We also make recommendations for continuing
care, including referral to emergency rooms or to family
physicians.
Fees are based upon the number
of health care professionals required
for the event, and the number of hours coverage will
be needed for.
